Mr. Amaran Jambulingam (alias Jay)

 

Summary

 

Amaran Jambulingam, or Jay for short, is the fourth child of a headmaster of a government school in Chennai. Even as a teenager, he started working in a printing press (as a proof-reader), a newspaper delivery boy, a YMCA fund-raiser and a tuition provider. After a brilliant academic record (IITM, IIMA and MIT) and 27 years of international experience (includes consulting for the International Finance Corporation, where he received recognition for the highest number of North=South joint ventures), Jay co-founded a Business Accelerator program. Throughout the last 30 years, Jay always found time for non-profit activities, human resource development (especially talented children) and community-based projects.

Professional Track Record

·         In M&A: Jay was part of the team that used McKinsey’s SOS Model to acquire EID Parry (a 30-SBU conglomerate). On behalf of Visionary Medical, Jay initiated an M&A program in the area of EMR’s and helped develop the VAR network.

·         In 1986, he had developed what was then the world’s largest library of Lotus 1-2-3 templates and shareware programs. He was part of the world’s first Y2K solution that was later licensed to Wipro. It spawned off over $ 300 million dollars in service opportunities.

·         In education, he was part of Apple’s ACOT (Apple Classrooms of Tomorrow) program. He co-founded ISCT, a computer training institute, created over 140 lesson modules, franchised it to over 300 locations and took the company public.

·         In healthcare, he founded a network of holistic clinics under the brand name of Ojus. In the area of computational genomics, Jay helped a firm (www.dnati.com) gain access to grant money. For Florida-based Dr K, he co-created a nation-wide VAR network.

·         In the area of risk management, he worked with Insiders GmbH, a Warren Buffet firm, to co-develop the Levy algorithm for Deutsche Bank.

Curtis Lowery, M.D.


Curtis Lowery, M.D., is known as a champion of telemedicine and distance education initiatives that make high-risk pregnancies safer all across the state. He sees the potential for using technology to “to reach beyond UAMS’ walls to collaborate, instruct and consult providers and patients throughout Arkansas.”

The professor of obstetrics and gynecology and director of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division founded UAMS’ award-winning ANGELS (Antenatal and Neonatal Guidelines, Education and Learning System). Lowery will become chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology July 1. He also is co-founder of the Center for Distance Health, an outgrowth of ANGELS and UAMS Regional Programs that helps develop new telemedicine initiatives.

The newly appointed Chairperson for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Curtis Lowery is viewed as a champion of antenatal and neonatal telemedicine benefiting the patient and physician alike.  Dr. Lowery has served as the Director of Obstetrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences since 1992.  In that time, he facilitated the process in which Arkansas insurance handles telemedicine, increased Medicaid reimbursements and promoted understanding for telemedicine, and brought telehealth access to over 60 hospitals and community clinics in rural Arkansas providing medical consultations combined with provider and patient education.  Dr. Lowery has established a Medicaid-funded, cost-effective programmatic solution to assist Arkansas’ high-risk pregnancies, ANGELS

C.N. (Madhu) Madhusudan is an accomplished executive with over 24 years experience in setting up and managing software, training and knowledge based businesses.  His expertise areas include launching new businesses, turnaround management, outsourcing, strategic investments, and acquisitions. 

As one of the early members of the team that built NIIT in India, he held key roles including setting up NIIT’s Chennai (Madras) and Bangalore operations, turning around NIIT’s Mumbai (Bombay) operations and establishing NIIT’s HR, IS and Corporate Planning functions.

Dr. Stough has an extensive publication record, including several hundred scholarly and professional publications, 16 books and nearly 100 journal articles. Dr. Stough also has a wide range of graduate and undergraduate teaching experience, with over 30 years logged in eight separate institutions (including Johns Hopkins University, University of South Carolina, Indiana University, Lieden and Erasmus Universities in the Netherlands, George Mason University). While the local National Capital Region is an empirical laboratory for much of his research, he has extensive research and consulting experience nationally and internationally. Banashri Bose Harrison

Banashri Bose Harrison joined the Indian diplomatic service in 1981.

She did her graduate degree in Economics from Delhi University and obtained a postgraduate degree in the same subject from the Delhi School of Economics. She taught public finance and microeconomics to graduate and postgraduate students for four years before moving to diplomacy.

As a career diplomat, she has dealt with a wide range of responsibilities. She has served in France – dealing with India’s interaction with UNESCO; in Hungary – as Commercial Counsellor and in Reunion Island – as Consul General of India. In New Delhi, she has worked in the personnel & administration wing and dealt with neighbouring countries, including the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

Before taking over as head of the Commercial Wing in the Embassy of India, Washington in January 2007, she was Deputy High Commissioner of India to South Africa.

She has participated in numerous conferences representing the Government of India – at UNESCO and in SAARC , NAM (Non-Aligned Movement and IBSA (India-Brazil-South Africa Dialogue Forum) meetings.

Believing deeply that learning should be a life-long process, she has participated in two study programmes. The first was the Oxford University Foreign Service Programme, in which she obtained a certificate with honours in international economics, international politics and international law. The second course was the National Security Strategy course conducted by the National Defence College of India.

She speaks French and has a working knowledge of Hungarian.

DAVID W. KOCH

David Koch is a founding partner of Plave Koch PLC, a law firm focused on franchising and related areas.  His practice representing franchisors covers a wide range of domestic and international franchising activity, including creating and revamping franchise programs, regulatory compliance, transactions, disputes, antitrust analysis, vendor arrangements, and privacy, website and ecommerce issues.
