US Indian-American Chamber of Commerce supports the Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement between US and India, and compliments President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on this historic step toward continued increase in prosperity both in India and the United States.

“Not only this watershed agreement is good for America and India, we believe wholeheartedly that it has the potential of benefiting the entire world,” said the Chairman of USIACC, KV Kumar.

“The agreement sets an example of how the world respects and trusts a country when it practices discipline and acts responsibly,” added Bharat Bhargava, President of USIACC.

USIACC is taking its message of support to the US lawmakers as they ponder on this matter of far reaching importance.

USIACC Executive Board strongly recommends its officers, members to take immediate and active role by contacting all Members of Congress to pass HR4974 and to US Senators to pass the Senate Bill S2429 and be part of this Historic Agreement between the two of the world’s largest democracies. Please call, write, meet with them, meet with their staff and please do whatever it takes to get this bill passed by Congress.
